That's right, Rent_or_Buy; two flights after you get out of the elevator. I believe it is Moby's old place. Pretty interesting apartment, but can you imagine the "commute" just to get in and out of the building every day?

cant be half as bad as the 5 or 6 floor walkup PH featured on selling ny. At least there is some elevator use and real legit views after only walking up 2 flights

Not to mention $5MM for what's basically five rooms. Huge market for that...lets see older people won't like it cause of stairs, not enough bedrooms for most families plus spiral staircase is not good with small children. Guess there are a lot of singles or childless couple with $5MM to spare.

Its ALL about the view and the terraces. They are totally f'ing amazing no doubt, and I guess it work fine as a New York residence for a multi-homed jet-set type.

and where are the closets? doesn't one need to dress nightly in full regalia for cocktails on the terraces?

i've always wondered what this very apt looked like. pretty amazing. although it's almost too high and the top two floors would make me feel claustrophobic!

Holy cow, Moby: if this really is the same apartment, it is one for the records. It definitely belongs on the comps thread.

It last traded at 6.7 in 2008 (which matches the realtor's comments about a reno 2 years ago). Now listed at under 5, and there was a renovation. I'd say price movement, and I bet the kitchen isn't even vegan safe anymore (the realtor doesn't say). You'll have to ritualistically de-meat the kitchen to restore it back to proper condition.

There are many walk up apartments for sale at more than $1M. Obviously, they need to offer something very special to make it worth your while.
