I've never worked with him, but from his SE posts he seems like a solid person.

No, it was a different firm with a website with mutiple commission sharing options depending of the level of service required.

I think it is good for all involved that we are now seeing alternatives for buyers and sellers. For me (as a broker) it has been a very effective way to work,I can handle a large group of buyers with out neglecting anyone since a lot of my work is internet based. I do like to get out and spend at least a few hours looking at units with every client regardless of the commission structure, most Sundays are spent with 1 or 2 of my buyers. Generally we stay in touch via email, Buyfolio and phone, when we find a unit of interest I then come out and have a look and help evaluate price and put together a strategy, essentially we work as a team. I also spend quite a bit of time online searching for appropriate listings for my buyers and share them via Buyfolio.com(a very good tool), some prefer I just email them the links the old fashion way (:

I think what differentiates me from the more online based national firms is the fact that I am a local. I raised my family here and have been in the NYC brokerage biz over 20 years. You get qualified, full service from an experienced broker. Everyone is different, some buyers want me more active in their search others prefer to call me when they find something of interest and the rebate reflects the level of service they require. My customers are very happy.
