where is the new inventory?

I've been looking on the west side, but to me new listings are slow and those that are on, not very attractive. Any thoughts? Expect improvement over the next few months? what about Fall? Not understanding the trend-- are sellers holding back on listing?

since the slump in housing market, new contrustion have been halted or slowed down and now were are seeing shortage of new contruction all over Manhattan. Some predict this shortage will drive property prices much higher in the next few years.

with lower prices right now those who do not need to sell are waiting. The inventory out there today is a mix of desperate sellers and units that are somewhat shielded from the downturn. As prices climb more listings will return. Its very hard to sell your home for little or no return when you dont need to sell right now.
