Seems like we all got very lucky just now. This thing could have killed hundreds or thousands if it had gone off. Everyone still sanguine about the value of nyc real estate now that we are reminded once again we will always be a target?
Oh, too low.
why too low? It's a very legitimate question.
"Seems like we all got very lucky just now."
Oh please.
This whole "foiled terror plot" was staged by the government to keep us in fear and from revolting over the encroachment of our civil rights and liberties vis-a-vis the "Patriot" Act.
NYCMatt: is that what you truly believe? If so, let's help find you a nice leather couch to lay on once a week.
I think you need to go directly to the padded cell...
Crazy right wing angry white guys No doubt.
hundreds of thousands?
Damn I am not standing by your gas grill.
Thank our lucky stars for attentive hot dog vendors. Our first line of defense. Makes you want to eat one of those dirt water dogs........no it doesn't.
Weenie vendors=1
Terrorists=0
I think RE values will now go up. Especially on 45th St and B'way since that is probably the one corner no one will ever park a car bomb again.
BIDs will be bidding against each other for t-shirt vendors to protect their privately-cleaned and -patrolled turf.
Who do you suspect is behind this plot? Anti-federalist survivalists? Muslim FunDaMentalists? My money is on lesbian separatists, sick and tired of being lumped together with Matt as "GLBTC".
I agree that it is most likely crazy wing nuts.
And NYC Matt is sane to be skeptical of the government -- that's the only sane approach in a democracy, remember? Restrain government because it will oppress us if we let it.....?
"NYCMatt: is that what you truly believe? If so, let's help find you a nice leather couch to lay on once a week."
NYCROBOT, you just keep on drinking the Kool-Aid.
Hell, in another context, if this were Guyana in 1978, I'm sure you'd be calling your fellow Temple members who refused to drink the Kool-Aid "crazy" too.
GG: There is a fine line between skeptical and batshit crazy.
Oh, dear.
"There is a fine line between skeptical and batshit crazy."
Hmm.
Seems to me that Jews in 1930s Germany were describing alarmists against the Nazi regime as "batshit crazy".
comparing a failed car bomb plot foiled by a hot dog vendor to the nazi regime.
batshit crazy.
"comparing a failed car bomb plot foiled by a hot dog vendor to the nazi regime."
Again, you're being obtuse.
I'm suggesting that this "failed" car bomb "plot" was hatched by the U.S. regime in the first place.
well, if the "regime" wanted to whip up the masses into a frenzy, they didn't do a very good job, no?
i know our gov't is incompetent, and would likely wish to instill fear without mass destruction, but this has rank amatuer written all over it, even the CIA could have done better.
who is being obtuse?
This one smells more like Tea Party wingnut than Al Qaida trainee, we'll soon know either way. NycMatt, you should look for CIA conspiracies around the oil spill; it's got big oil, Halliburton, New Orleans, AND it happened just a few days after Obama announced his support for offshore drilling. The best part: it's complex enough we may never have a definite answer.
The big connection: The Times Square War and the Gulf of Mexico Genocide are related to Arizona's radical proposal to arrest criminals instead of rewarding them.
actually, as punishment the criminals will not be deported, they'll be sent to the gulf as unpaid labor (a slight setback from their current earnings, but only slight) to clean wildfowl known as luxuary condods.
Hmmm.. the guy in the video looks a lot like Steve...
maybe VH-1 turned down his proposal for a reality show
@ columbiacounty: I think you need to go directly to the padded cell...
You were the Robert Kiyosaki dude who said that what our country needs is a politician to stand up and tell us we need to begin the process to study the opportunities for shared sacrifice instead of blaming everyone. And you thought Obama was going to play the role of that Jesus, I mean, of that politician who would magically part the waters, I mean of that person who would get everyone to down the path of shared sacrifice.
Oh what endless amusement that would be if you lived in a padded cell.
yep...more cynicism is just the ticket. repeat after me....me...me...me
Jesus will show us the way. Him or Robert Kiyosaki.
So did you like Rich Dad, Poor Dad? Which chapter was best? Did you get your copy autographed?
Did you attend a special seminar at the Learning Annex at the Marriott in Secaucus?
he's your obsession, not mine. and, for that matter, so is jesus.
So if Jesus or Kiyosaki or Omaba won't stand up and say, "there are no easy answers anymore. for a viable future, we need to have shared sacrifice. rather than try to figure out how and which programs to cut, lets start with a lengthy dialogue aimed at creating a process that is fair," who are you expecting will do that?
Oh, how long is that lengthy dialog?
who put the stick up your ass?
bslotkin, you're kin to a lot of bs? sorry, once again couldn't help myself, word games.
but what does cc's comments about communal sacrifice etc. have to do with another person's need to be a resident of a padded cell? i am not following your logic, gee, i wonder why?
Stop hijacking this thread. It is about conspiracy theories and heroic individuals seeking to expose the truth. Its out there.
Kiyosaki is pretty good at conspiracy theories. What is his latest? Just type Robert Kiyosaki into Google and don't press enter, you'll see what people are searching related to his name. All figured out - the government created the bomb in Times Square and some other kooky nut thinks that some politician will stand up and lead the way on some "lengthy dialog"
"bslotkin, you're kin to a lot of bs? sorry, once again couldn't help myself, word games."
? Are these the warmup jokes at the Rich Dad Poor Dad convention in Secaucus?
You are wound way too tight.
@bslotkin
WTF is up with you and kiyosaki? This is your stupid fantasy.
Man, I love New York. You folks are very funny.
