I think Tiffany Place is an awesome street. The noise is certainly an issue for people who live off the BQE but it's not as bad as you might think. It all depends on how much it bothers you personally...I find it to be more of a white noise (unless a truck is downshifting).

I also like tiffany place, but would never consider the units facing the bqe. i lived on the other side of the bqe on union street mid-block (hicks and henry). after only 3 months of living there, i had to repaint the window sills as they became grayish black from cleaning them once a week. the noise is not too bad, but the smog that comes out of the "hole" is awful. there's only once place where it can go and that's straight up to your windows.
