Discussion about
Hi, just wondering if anyone here owns these and has used for more than a few years? I'm talking about something that looks like this (not this ebony striped wood look, just the gloss over some other wood or MDF) - scroll down a bit to see a larger photo? http://www.artdecogroup.com/index.php/High-Gloss-Panels/ Does the gloss last or does it get a dull look over time? Why is the high gloss option so much more money? Lastly, real wood or MDF for the kitchen cabs? If I can't tell the difference between a veneer or thermafoil with the high gloss, does it matter in terms of durability which I choose? Thanks.

Real wood is actually not preferable for the actual cabinet housing, since the moisture and humidity from the normal use of the kitchen tends to warp even the hardest of woods.

Hey thanks NYCMatt - that's interesting. The kitchen will be about 10x12 but there is no window so the only ventilation is passive, so moisture could be an issue. What is the best material for the housing?

Also, my question above wasn't specific, but I meant in terms of the doors - real wood or something else? Specifically for the high gloss look.

Thanks.
