Dropping a lofted bedroom

I'm looking into buying a loft that has a lofted bedroom that is very short, but a storage space underneath that's very tall. I'd like to drop the floor of the bedroom/ceiling of the space to be able to stand up in the bedroom area. What's a good ballpark estimate for this type of job? I assume we'll need an architect, contractor, DOB permits, and of course, board approval.

As I suggested to other people call 646-721-2266 for an onsite free estimate...
