Discussion about
Saw a small, rear facing 2 bedroom in this pre-war, walk up condo conversion building listed in the low 400s. Not too familiar with this area of Manhattan Valley. The pluses were the proximity to Central Park, nearby trains, and apparent UWS amenities. Low points were the dated unkept facade, lack of common areas, and uncertainty of this particular sponsor. Is anyone familiar with this building and immediate surroundings (or neighboring 65 and 67 which are also part of the same conversion)? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The 2 blocks of W 107th between CPW and Amsterdam are really bad, one of the worst in the area. The condo conversions are squeezed between really bad "affordable housing" buildings. People shoot firecrackers off the roofs, the parked cars with ghetto blasters in the open trunks, thing like that. Oh, and the motorcycle gangs running all night with mufflers off, and small kids out at 2 am.

My wife and I have lived in 65 for 1 1/2 yrs now..we love it here..its much more quiet than W 76 st where we used to live...the neighbors are great..have not seen or heard any problems since we have been here..the neighborhood just keeps getting better with shopping, restaurants, etc..we are hoping to "clean" up the ugly gold painted facades and remodel the lobbies at some point..

Thanks for the useful information, I should check out the block at night as a noisy block would turn my off.
