OP links #6A trying to sell for $2,150,000 when #7A was asking $2,295,000 and is now in contract in a little over a month. Looks like its about market value to me....

Do you just go around looking for people to call names?

What causes this behavior?

Mav. Thnk you for the 7A.... Exactly! 6A did not sell one floor down. Now it's flapping in the wind with falling prices, not negotiable, wooden formica countertops! Definition of greedy pig. So bgt $880k, say 20% down after five years trying to sell $2.15mm, someone do math for me but it's gotta be some ridiculous compounded return. Flmao.

So mav u a bubble rider too? Who did the bubble benefit? Yeah ppl like you get to 'force' young ppl like me to be slaves to gignormous mortgages so you can live in lake bueona vista. Ride that bubble down, mav. Flmao. And 6A

"6A did not sell one floor down. Now it's flapping in the wind with falling prices, not negotiable, wooden formica countertops!"

What are you talking about? 6A has been for sale for all of 24 hours. w67th, you would have been the first to make fun of a seller if they were overpricing a current listing because they were anchored to what they paid in, say, 2007. I guess people need to wake up to market realities -- except when the market reality makes you envious of the seller's profit.

Don't let data get in the way of a good argument.

Ss400k, great call on buying NYC re with euros 17 months ago. You couldn't have picked a peakier time to drop from. Flmao.

Back to you mav, so what? Do you think a bubble re mkt that pays 200% returns annually on $150k dp, is normal? Is a great policy decision? He'll why don't we all quit our jobs and make money selling re back and forth to each other? Oh yeah, the we tried that the last 10 yrs and now our financial world is imploding. Flmao. Your turn.

I love you dad.
I love you son.

Ss6969k. Go masturbate to a head shot of a male borker, and pontificate on the new up and coming lic areas, and for the love of god abstain from giving financial advice. Your turn, borker boy.

Bringing some cred to this fugly thread.

A couple of things that caught my eye on this one:

The first resale listing, which failed to sell, was offered at a 67% premium over the 08 purchase (initial offering -pre Lehman, no less) by "NYC Value Reality".

When NYC Value Realty failed to sell the apartment on the merits of its value, it was taken off the market, ostensibly to redecorate, to then reappear at roughly 100% premium.

In fairness, the apartment grew in size by 21 square feet, so at some point along the way a closet may have been annexed from a neighbor.

The owner is the lone heiress to the Bismol fortune. She decorated the guest bedroom in honor of her father, Pepto, inventor of the miracle elixir that bears his name.
