I am having hard time finding Alcove Studio - what would be the best way to find one - Any recommendation for broker?
Ur not serious, right? Have you entered search parameters in streeteasy and gone to open houses? What area are you looking? Price range? Type of building you seek. Streeteasy should turn up plenty if you are being realistic about price.
are you open to the upper west side?
I found 350 results for studios where description includes alcove. Pretty straight forward.
Try Yorkshire towers on 86 & second. The building is huge, with no personality and mgmt are mediocre. However, apartments are good size for the price. If you call mgmt directly at 212 831 0600, youwill save yourself
a broker fee. Leasing agent's name is jenny ruiz. Apartmetns are about 2200 per month. If you want to go upscale, there is a 2750/mo studio at the brompton. The problem is there is a broker fee and the rent includes 3 yrs of membership at the equinox, which is in the same building. Thebrokersays he can get the owner to pay the fee, but i do not want to pay for equinox, if i could get this place for 2400, i'd be all over it.
doing a seach here isnt all that useful. "alcove studio" can mean many different things. if the OP is searching for a true "l" shaped studio with a dedicated sleeping area than he should contact a broker, tell them exactly what he/she wants and to only show those places.
ps, true l shaped alcoves can be difficult to find as they offer good value
njay73: i am a no fee broker. if you give me your budget and neighborhood, i could provide you all the alcove studios on the market
fyi: i have an alcove studio in the clinton area for just $2200. This is in an elevator and concierge bldg...no fee.
