Discussion about
Thinking about renting in this building complex. Any insight from anyone who's lived there or from anyone who is familiar with the building? e.g. Noise levels - from outside and from adjacent apartments; tenant mix; any issues/annoyances;etc Thanks!

Yeah,but I forget which tower, maybe V?
You have to take one elevator to one floor, then walk down a long hall to another elevator to your floor.

I lived in the G tower for a year on the 7th floor facing 15th street (it's the tower on the NE part of the complex). The 7th floor is the first floor of apartments (the express elevator goes right there). I was lucky in not having to take an additional elevator up even higher, which I can see being a minor annoyance.

I found the noise levels between apartments to be very low. Unlike most buildings there is actually insulation between apartments (which I discovered while trying to run surround sound wiring). I think the outside noise is the bigger worry -- I would not want to face 14th street under any circumstances nor Union Square if you were on a low floor. Also watch out for apartments that are close to being right over Sidebar (NE corner of 15th and Irving). They play their music fairly loudly.

Other than that the building is very nice. The doormen are all pretty awesome. The real highlight is underutilized pool which is open almost all the time. Laundry rooms are open 24x7 with good machines too. I'd say the biggest disappointment is the roofdeck. It's only accessible through the gym, so when the gym is closed (like after 9 pm on weekends) you can't access the roof.
