there are three issues with this building in my mind. First some people are made nervous by the con ed plant right next door. Secondly there were issues with the choices of finishes, the vanities in the bathroom started peeling with water damage while they were still selling off the building etc...., lastly I believe there was some kind of lawsuit between the owners and developer whereby the profits from his last sale have to be given to the condo itself,-- not sure of the exact details but maybe someone else here can chime in. The B lines, which are the ones on sale are the nicer floorplans though, some of the others had tiny tiny bedrooms. 10B wayyyy overpriced,

Thank you nycbrokerdax! I really like the block and the fact that it is a boutique condo with only 20 something units. Do you know where I could more info regarding the law suit.
The con ed plan is it also next to the Ives?

Yes, Yves building is also close to Con ed plant, across the street, but you do not here the noise from it in the Yves building from my understanding. Are you only looking at relatively new developments?

Do they still have the NuKitchen amenity there?

A boutique 29-unit full-service condominium, Slate offers amenities including 24/7 concierge, on-site parking, health & fitness center with meditation/pilates room, landscaped garden, pet spa, individual storage units and **********a unique lifestyle partnership with NuKitchen*************, your integrated nutritionist and personal chef.

This ridiculous "amenity" should have tipped everyone off that a bubble was in progress.

BTW: Apparently, the food isn't even that good.

SNS..and the "pet spa" didn't? As everyone on the board knows I'm as pet friendly as anyone. But everyday is spa day in the life of my cats and my friends with equally overindulged canines don't mind at all having to take them a few blocks to a groomer every few weeks...dogs are supposed to walk and exercise after all.

when i looked at a unit at the slate, there was something that screamed run for your life. the windows were already grimy. the square footage was inflated. the place i saw had already had some leaks. i would stay away.

The condo is suing the developer, architect, contractor, etc. for construction deficiencies: https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/fbem/DocumentDisplayServlet?documentId=hU2t/NCvOlB8hXOurmD+gA==&system=prod

More than 100 documents filed so far. http://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/webcivil/FCASMain index 600753/2009 for more.
