Anyone view this building? Or have thoughts about this neighborhood? I viewed Arista 35. As far as quality, I think it is well done - though the common hallways and elevator seem a bit narrow. The layouts also seem to be smaller than their stated square footage. I have quite bought into Astoria being the next hotspot so I would like to hear some perspective from others. To me, Astoria is like Jackson Heights, albeit with some decent lounges scattered around.

Astoria is Astoria, it's not the next Soho or Tribeca or even Williamsburg. It's a well established traditionally Greek neighborhood that nowadays is made up of every race, greed, and nationality imaginable. It's safe in most areas and farly cheap although finding a descent apartment when dealing with rental brokers be tough as nails. I don't think it is headed to being hip and cool at all but it is convenient as far as good cheap food, restaurants, gyms (11), bars, drugstores, etc.. It's a safe place to buy but don't expect it to ever be a runaway great investment.
