Discussion about
I do not live in New York and I need to get furniture etc out of the apartment in Manhattan. It is very difficult to find a charity to accept donations. With a coop you have to negotiate a day to use the service elevators. So if the charity comes out and wont take the furniture what do New Yorkers do to clear out their apartments? Are there hauling services etc?

Check out 1-800-GOT JUNK. Don't know if they operate in NY but I think it may be the cheapest way to empty an apt.

Contact Housing Works Thrift shops. They are a New York city only organization. They should take everything.

Call up the super and offer him $200 to empty the contents of the apartment however he wishes.

Invite my brother in law over. Everyone and everything will eventually leave.

Give it to the neighbors down the hall, they say are just trying to be cool by having big pillows all over their place but after their monthly payment they dont have enough left over for furniture.
