Discussion about
They seem to have amazing listings on UWS for real or all bait and switch? Anyone use them? I'm ready to start looking for a 2/2 on UWS thought I wouldn't have to use broker but their sites seem to have much better inv. than SE....
Sounds like a scam.
Crooks. They use the same pics over and over. Rachel is revolting.
You thought you could find an apt without a broker except that the market reality has proven otherwise
For what its worth, rr has some good exclusive listings, but they are shady to deal with (holding apps for better offers, etc)
Really confused why is cc's comment hidden and what is falco talking about...funny but...huh?
I'm not opposed to a broker with a reasonable fee...it just seems like a lot of them post bogus listings...no patience for being dragged around town and pressured....
RR had a building on the UWS at 99th and Bway they had an exclusive on. I would feel more comfortable walking into an electronic store in Time Square, where everything is behind the glass counter, no prices, and they ask how much you want to pay.
What happened to Falco's truths? It may not have been the most on topic comment but it was one of the BEST EVER. At least bring it back so some of us can copy and paste into our files for sharing with others.
Rachel Realty's rental @ 315 w 86 are both bogus. 100%.
Search "rachel realty" in discussions, you should find plenty of information on which to base your decision.
Here's my experience, copied from one of the threads:
While we are on the subject of Rachel Realty, my wife and I had a past dealing with these slimeballs. We were working with one of their agents to find a rental. We were new to the city and just ran across one of their teaser adds and ended up working with them. We made an offer on an apartment listed at 6500/mth. We offered 5500 and after numerous phone calls to try and find out where the deal stood, our agent said the owner turned it down. Fine. The VERY NEXT DAY we checked the same apartment on Streeteasy and it had just been lowered to 5500!!! We called our "agent" at 6AM to give her a piece of our mind. Her stuttering response was incoherent, as was the response from someone higher up in the agency, so we called the listing agent. As you might suspect, he was never presented the offer. What the hell?! We did the deal because we loved the apartment and RR ended up with a token commission. We have been living here for 6 months now and a few weeks ago photos of OUR apartment appeared on Streeteasy. Address given was not even close. I swear I don't know how these people stay in business.
