How can I help get my security back after moving out? I've suspected for ages that the management firm never had any intent to give it back. It's skating close to the line financially and has recently leased a block of apartments to a big corporation which makes sense for it, but left me without the possibility of renewing. It's skating close to the line financially and has recently leased a block of apartments to a big corporation which makes sense for it, but left me without the possibility of renewing. Too bad they didn't see fit to let me know. I found out by chance. I've had to desperately scramble to find a new place and will be leaving this one in good shape. I've never given any trouble and always paid on time. The building has always had problems, elevators breaking, plumbing issues - bathtubs don't drain well in one whole section. It's obvious that money hasn't been spent to keep it up and that every dollar is watched and held close. Including mine, I fear. As I understand it they have 90 days to return my security. Then what? They won't even agree to walk through the apartment with me. I know I am being set up to be fleeced. I do plan to take pictures and as my camera is digital I will be showing a daily newspaper to prove the date the pictures were taken. What else can I do? [less]
ha, I was worried for a sec that its another Israel post. ;-)
Take pictures and take a video! Do a walk around, that will go much further than photos which can be doctored, leave things out, might be of a different apartment.
There might be legal options as well, but I'll leave that to the expert.
A video is a good idea, thanks.

threaten them with legal action. use the word "lawyer." then you will get it back
Also consider using the word "cardiologist". Then they might think they are getting a heart attack and want to come to Jesus and do the right thing and return the deposit voluntarily.
wtf glamma
