Discussion about
Anyone know a general price range for an installed Ikea kitchen similar to this one? http://camilaconstruindopontes.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/ikea_kitchen_3.jpg Also, thoughts on IKEA quality? Would it be more cost/quality effective to go with an external contractor who uses their own cabinetry? Any idea on cost? (not looking to go too crazy)
My guesstimate is $35K, including a midline fridge you can't see in the photo.

I'm using Ikea however i have been referred to a terrible plumber. my plumber knowingly, illegally and unethically moved gas line unbeknownst to me and now I'm having to file a DOB permit to have it moved back to it's original place, have it inspected by nyc plumbing inspector, moved to new location and final reinspection. I cant' wait for kitchen to get done. Anyone know how to follow up to verify if plumber filed for an expedited permit? is there an electronic way online I can follow up?
That kitchen shouldn't cost any more than $25,000
Considering Ikea cabinetry is not expensive i do not see how you pay $25k. i was just in IKEA and even the larger kitchens were maybe $7,000 without appliances, so add it all and maybe $12k or less depending on the cost of doors and countertop. So unless you are telling me you are going to pay $13,000 for someones labor, how is it that expensive?
Yep, labor in a Manhattan co-op can easily run 13k (filing, drawings, labor).
