$500 won't happen. There is sure to be lag between this quarter's hiring and actual real estate purchases. Memories are still fresh and those hired will not be inclined to blow it. There's a certain amount of anxiety on whether business will be good this year and next. But I agree eventually this will support the local real estate market. Just not yet.
