Why is this man labeled a radical? It seems like he does nothing more than explain the financial industry's chicanery and sleight of hand. The only major element he didn't include was the vailing force of lobbyists on the health and vigor of financial reform.

It's good.

The other thing not addressed in this presentation is LACK OF LIABILITY.

The primary actor within capitalism is the LIMITED LIABILITY CORPORATION, which was designed primarily to AVOID holding economic actors accountable for the consequences of their production.

And now that corporations are solidly in control of almost every resource that we need and use, we can see the effects of limited liability -- BP cannot be restrained from killing off the vast eco-system of the Gulf, for instance. Nor can Rio Tinto be prevented from devastating thousands of acres of pristine lands in South America as they pursue their mining rights.

Nor can coal companies be restrained from blowing up mountain tops in Appalachia.

Now you could argue that we can and do restrain the actions of these corporations EVENTUALLY, but the problem is that this happens only after the fact, after the irremediable damage is done.

And after the money has been made.

So this video needs to include a discussion of the failure of the limited liability corporation as a part of its discussion of the failure of capitalism. Because the corporation as an institution really has to be reformed from the bottom up, it cannot stay as it is if we are to figure out a sustainable way to live in this world.

I like the Spanish version of "Limited (Liability) (Corporation)" ... Anonymous Society, or SA for short.

Look, I think this stuff is Great and I agree with most of it, but lest anyone think this is some kind of balanced treatment of the crisis please consider the very representative example of David Harvey's Oeuvre : For example, "Reading Marx’s Capital" with David Harvey at http://davidharvey.org/.
