Discussion about
Does anyone know whether there are development plans concerning the empty buildings across the street from Morton Square (358 West Street, 75 Clarkston Street), which would impact the western views from a 6th floor unit? I've been told that the buildings are bank owned. Thanks for any information!

The view from any NYC apt may change unless it is right up against the water, park, or a brickwall.

Confused about what angle you are asking about, but looking west from a unit with a southern exposure should be a-ok for the foreseeable future (3+ yrs, more likely much longer). My data is old and I make no reps so if you are a serious buyer check out online info (ACRIS, etc.) to find ownership, debt, etc. and get your broker to pull a favor from a zoning attorney to check permits and FAR ratio (how high a building could possibly be built).

I really like 1 Morton Square for a lot of reasons (price psf, condition, garage, services, quiet but lots of primary residences, etc.) and personally would be happier -- and probably wealthier -- if I owned there and the surrounding areas were developed at the cost of an oblique water view.
