Discussion about
I have read about CitiQuiet and CityProof as two soundproof options. Has anyone used either of them? Found a difference? Can anyone estimate cost per window?

We have had CityProof windows installed recently, and are very pleased with the result. The whole process was professional, from measuring the windows to installing them 6 weeks later. We opted for the crystal clear glass and white frame, and the windows blend in nicely with the existing pre-war windows. Prices vary depending on size/ frame/glass , and we payed around $1500/window. After reading some reviews on SE and other websites, we decided to use CityProof without getting other estimates. We dealt with Michael Damelin, and were very pleased. The noise reduction is impressive (90%) and in our situation, the CityProof windows were the best solution. Hope this helps. Good luck!

We had to have vertical sliding window panes, so we have 7/8" glass thickness. Horizontal sliding panes are thicker and provide even better sound proofing. The CityProof representative (Michael Damelin) did explain what type of window would work best since we had to fit the air conditioning units in the windows.

I installed Citiquiet windows in my apt. They definitely make a difference. I am not sure how I would quantify it. Citiquiet claims 90% noise reduction for the thickness I installed. I did not install the Citiquiet window in my kitchen, and every time I walk into the kitchen, I notice the noise, so I guess that means they make a big difference where I did install them.

I got a quote from CityProof, and they were more money, which was ultimately why I chose Citiquiet. Both companies provided a free measurement and quote.

They did a very good job of matching my existing window frames so you don't even notice they are there.

I dealt with Nicole. She was very responsive, and it took about 6 weeks for installation after I placed my order.

CitiQuiet was probably one of the best investments I've made in a while. Noise is basically a nonfactor for me when I sleep and wake up now. Look em up at www.citiquiet.com
