Good quality rental buildings on UWS?

Discussion about
I would appreciate suggestions of good quality, well-maintained rental buildings (or coops/condos with reasonable rental policies) on the Upper West Side. I'm looking for doorman/elevator buildings in the $2500-3500 range for a one bedroom (or up to about $4000 for a two bedroom). Location and quality are more important to me than luxury amenities, though a roofdeck or gym would be great. Also, although I would prefer to avoid a broker's fee, I would appreciate any recommendations for reputable brokers who focus on the UWS. Thanks for any thoughts.

The Melar on West 93rd Street is very well run. Management company is Rose Associates. Nearby on W. 94th is The Lyric, a Related Company building (Related also has one or two other rental buildings on the UWS). Both buildings are on the block between Broadway and West End Avenue and both buildings have amenities, e.g., washer-dryers in some apartments, gym for building residents, doormen and concierge, outdoor decks, etc. If you contact their on-site rental offices directly there's no broker's fee.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I looked for rentals about a year ago and I didn't like Brodsky's South Pierre on the corner of W71st and Broadway. It looked quite in need of a renovation. I liked the West Pierre on West 72nd much more. One bedrooms (approximately 550-600 sq ft) at the West Pierre were asking about $2600.

Cara at Mark David is excellent on the upper west side. She is extremely professional.

How come columbiacounty didn't show up on this thread to suggest a building with window shades in the shower?
