How does one go about finding out the status of a new development or a property that has been sitting unsold for a considerable period of time? Where do I find about NYC forclosures? How do I buy distressed propertioes that are in the hands of a bank?

What property in particular are you talking about?

Foreclosures are listed in the New York Law Journal, but you must subscribe online to be able to access the notices of sale. You can check who the attorney listed on the notice of sale is, and contact that attorney to make offers on property prior to the sale.
