Discussion about
http://streeteasy.com/nyc/talk/discussion/21702-ben This place seems to have more problems with their board! Why don't you guys vote this board out? First it was that the board fines $500 for anyone speaking out against them and now this? Maybe let one of the rats find their way to one of their apts?

Dear Luce 1, you are right on. Nothing would be better for the Link than to get rid of this board. 3 years of tyranny and what do we have to show for it? They were unable to reach a settlement with the developer (despite having two purported lawyers on the board), they raised condo fees, they ignore rats and floods, but act like Kojak when it comes to doggie peepee on their pretty rat-infested plants. I agree that they have to go, but try having a non-rigged election in this place. It is worse than a coop. In China.

If this is an owner, I can think of no better way to increase real estate values than to post about rats and a bad condo board... but that's just my two cents..

Yeah, Riversider, I couldn't agree more. But honestly? I would rather take that risk than have rats in my million dollar condo--which would probably make it even harder to sell. This is a terrible situation and desperate times call for desperate measures. But you are correct, and that's the really sad part.

We all understand what Riverside is saying as far as keeping our "traps" (no pun intended) shut about the negatives of our buildings, but I also can commiserate with Rats and what he is going through. It sounds like my old board. When you have a big building like The Link and you have a high percentage of rentals, it is hard to get a quorum for an election.

If my memory serves me correct, this is the same building with lots of controversy ie the sponsor being sued, $500 fines for exercising residents first ammendment rights, and more. Maybe someone knows if the AG's office can help you? I know we have some attorney's on this board.
