Check out The ashley on west end and 64th. they are renting out the lower floors at discounts due to the gym not being open yet.. I don't know actual prices.

I'm looking for a "no-fee" studio (monthly rent up to $2,500).
I don't care about the location - whether it's in BPC, FiDi, TriBeCa, UWS, UES, etc. - as long as it's very quiet, luxurious doorman building with THICK WALLS. Currently, I live in an apartment in FiDi and hear everything from neighbors -- I'm sick of paper thin walls!!!

Please help me -- any suggestions?

The newer buildings in BPC are built pretty well, though the rents seem to have been increasing lately, and you may not find many options under $2500. Maybe its just a seasonal spike, as there were many incentives up until about July, so if you're not in a rush, the Fall may bring some additional options.

Look for prewar "fireproof" buildings. Our building (57 W 58th) is fireproof, meaning EVERY wall/ceiling/floor is at least eight inches of concrete. Even the closets. So we never hear anybody. Our 2 bd will be available in Sept, but over your price.

Yep, prewar beats out new construction on this front.

Thanks for these comments!
Unfortunately, it's not always the case.
I'm currently living in a prewar, fireproof building in FiDi, but walls are very thin and hear neighbors almost 24/7.
I think this may be because my apartment building was converted from office to residential building with a poor, cheap construction.
