I don't have any info, but, how do you feel about living so far from stores (on Lex)? I think it'd be great to live on 5th, but I see this as a downside.

@dwell: The walk from 5th to Lex is not far by any means. And the views of the Park are certainly worth a short walk.

dmf13, you need to be a little more specific as to what information you are looking for. I will say that it is a very well maintained Co-op on 5th Avenue, that should already provide you with a good deal of info. I did a deal in this building a few years ago though so I may be able to come up with some answers.

Thanx MRussell. I'm thinkin about winter & how some townhouse owners on side streets don't shovel their sidewalks, so ya could brake an ankle gettin to Lex! Also, late nite ice cream runs: greater potential for muggings btwn 5th & Park. Nonetheless, 5th is gorgeous.

Considering that I have spent pretty much every single year of my life living in that area, those are two things that have never even crossed my mind. I also used to routinely walk from 70th and 5th to 72nd and York between the hours of 1-4am and never felt that I was unsafe. There are doormen every 40 feet on pretty much every block. As for snow, when we do get it most people do a pretty good job of clearing the path. And if they didn't whoever walked before you probably packed it down, making it manageable.

Additionally... if you want ice cream (or anything) late at night, you can always get it delivered.
