Another Custom Closets Thread

I've read many of the other threads here on SE re: custom closets, but haven't found any information relating to truly "custom" closets. California et al seem to only customize from the walls in--they don't actually make any structural changes. Is anyone aware of a closet customizer that would make structural changes (like altering a door and actually building the closet interior, as opposed to using prefab materials). Many thanks.

Are you in a coop? The type of work you describe would require board approval in most buildings since it involves changing doorways/walls. No closet company I'm aware of does such a thing. That is contractor work.

I'm in a condo. You're probably right that I'd have to get some sort of approval. I hadn't even thought about a contractor, but I suppose you're right about that, too. I had been thinking of it more along the lines of the entertainment system I had installed, which required some sheetrock work, but I suppose this is more significant. Nothing is ever easy.
