A former deputy mayor in the bloomberg administration left the city govt to join Extell last year. I hope that someone in our fair city govt is checking on the capital reserves of Extell which has extensive, extensive RE holdings in Manhattan RE. Does anyone in the govt have any idea if this company is seriously over leveraged --ala some of the banks in the RE bubble? Do they have any way to check the books? Barnett has been buying up RE non-stop before, during and after the bubble popped. He continues to buy as other more experienced developers are pulling in the horns. He is either the smartest guy in the world or he is fated to be Maddoff's new neighbor. Careful, Ms. Quinn. I hope you know who you are playing with.
