Cost of renovation entered with DOB application.

I looked up some DOB RECORDS on a property I am interested in and entered in the application for change from 2 to a 3 family dwelling estimated cost was 150k. Can i use this as a rough estimate of what the current owner actually spent? If it matters, it was a gut renovation of a 2 family estate condition to a 3 family. 3 floors plus Basement. Did not retain any original details. I would say it's a nicer rental grade renovation.

Also, no central air.

no. people have been known to wildly underestimate and not submit correct numbers prior to the close of the job, even though thats what is required. there could also be more than one DOB job, with costs spread across them.

but you can certainly say it's the minimum they spent ;-)
