Discussion about
Anyone have any thoughts on the TriBeCa Abbey, 50 Murray, 111 Worth and other buildings in the area. Any recommendations? I have heard bad things about 88 Leonard.

121 Reade (TrBeCa Abbey) does not have a doorman, but the super takes packages and is full-time. I lived there for two years, love the location, but it's expensive, and not the same "luxury" as the others. It's a solid, well-maintained rental building and there's a reason they command the rents they do. Worth considering, but the nicer apartments disappear quickly, so you have to act fast there.

I'm at 50 Murray now, fits the "luxury" profile and you get the high ceilings. Windows are paper thin, so really depends on which unit your in. We're on a high floor with amazing light and views, and that's the only reason we took the apartment. I wouldn't consider one of the no-view lower floor units, would rather live somewhere else. Definitely check it out, though.

Tribeca Tower on Duane Street might be worth seeing.

Yup, Tribeca Tower too. For location, 50 Murray and 121 Reade are your two best, but there's also 99 Murray, which is the sister rental version of 101 Warren right above Whole Foods. There's Independence Plaza too, which is the Mitchell Lama development along Greenwich Street. Three towers, one at North Moore, one at Harrison and the other off Duane St. next to the park. Large apartments, some with awesome views and balconies, but it's mixed income, so different vibe if you're looking for straight-up luxury doorman building. Truffles Tribeca just opened up in north Tribeca, different vibe again, seems like they're trying to market to the young, spoiled, dooshy wall-street kids straight out of college. But that's just the sense I got from their marketing, may have changed from when they first opened last year. You can check out condo rentals in the neighborhood too, like 275 & 295 Greenwich, 200 Chambers, 80 Chambers...etc.

It depends on what you want. Studio, 2 bd, W/D, nicer finishes, etc.

There's a couple buildings on Broadway and Worth, in addition to those mentioned above.

Also consider northern Battery Park City.
