Discussion about
So J&L mirror, a NJ base glass company, came by gave an estimate, remove the old shower door and got paid 90% of the cost. they sent a letter stating that until they get the final payment and the check will clear, they will not do the job. Since they promised to complete and did not show up for the appointment, I am afraid that if I shall send final payment I will be taken for a ride on the whole amount rather than the 90%. How do I make a complaint in NJ? do I have legal recourse? Should I pay? the owner Joel lied several times on the phone, stating that the door will be installed last Friday, than this Monday but no one shows up. today in the mail I received the bill demanding full payment prior to completion of the work. was I taken for a ride? any possible actions I can take?

Looks like you hired a serial liar. http://www.yelp.com/biz/j-and-l-mirror-and-glass-saddle-brook

As for options, that depends upon what is at stake.

Yep- seems like 2 other customers had the same experience. Since I paid $1350 so far, any actions I can take?

007 it appears the link provided by Cap914 indicates this business is no longer in business. Unless I am reading it wrong. Did you happen to pay with a credit card? You can dispute the charge with the credit card company as services not received. Good luck it sounds like these guys are crooks.
