Discussion about
In today's real estate section of The Wall Street Journal they highlighted three properties which got quite a bit of space along with pictures of the RE that was near major universities. I was shocked to see a two bedroom that looked in mint condition in the heart of Greenwich Village for $749,000! A little investigation shows a lot of apartments for sale in this building for almost nothing...land lease has 39 years left and people dumping? This is not good journalism to put a distressed building as a benchmark for NY RE prices in GV IMHO....thoughts? Knowledge of anyone re: this building?

I beliebe 54 East 8th is part of same Coop as 50 East 8th. Land leases apartment have become poison in today's
market. There is a large 2-bd at 101 West 23rd Street on the market not for about $350-375,000 - roughyl the same asking price as some 300 ft walk-up studios in the Village.

Distressed? $1700 maintenance makes the monthly nut not as cheap as the list of $749K seems.

Building is in bad shape and on a very busy street.
