Discussion about
How much should I expect to pay to have my 1 BR (850 sq feet) painted by a professional? It's a pretty straightforward job, with the brown molding not being painted. thanks for any help
We just paid $4k ($3.5k for labor and $0.5k for paint) to do our 1200-sf apt, including ceilings and moldings, sanding (not paint slapped on top of paint), and moving furniture. The other bid was the same price. It took one week. It would have been cheaper if our apt had been unfurnished.
It depends on the conditions of the walls as well as your expectaions, I can paint a 1 bedroom apartment for $3,000 or it could be $6,000.00. It really depends on the prep work. How many colors? Is the ceiling a different color as the walls? It also can depend on how much cuttin in there is
I would get estimates based on sq footage. Thats the easiest way to determine the range you're likely to pay.
With sanding its more expensive but the outcome is obviously better. Make sure you use a company that is bonded and has good reviews online. I had a bad experience with a 'professional painter' once and in the end it would have been easier and (obviously) cheaper to do it myself.
