Discussion about
Hello, I'm about to go ahead with monthly parking at a nearby lot where the attendant has to bring my car out each morning (didn't get a designated spot). Since I am paying the lot monthly, should I tip the attendant each time he brings out my car or is it normal if I include tip as part of my monthly credit card payment? I would greatly prefer the latter. Also, if I payed tip monthly, would you suggest 15% of monthly price of $300? Thanks in advance.

I tip $40-$50 every couple of months and $200 at holiday time. Works out to more than if i were to give $2 every time they brought my car up.

One thing that comes to my mind is, what is the personnel turnover at these lots? I want to tip the person who is actually performing the service so therefore more frequent tipping does make sense.

Thanks LLL,

Do you pay your bill via credit card, and do you just add the tip onto that payment?

i pay the management company via check each month. I tip in cash and when i hand it to the garage manager, i make sure to do it in front of a couple of the other guys to ensure it's shared...

I tip $2 every morning and then $100 to a couple of the guys at holidays. Make sure it's spread around, not just the morning guy (or whenever you pick your car up). I keep two cars in the lot.
