Discussion about
Does any one know how it works in terms of city permission if the sunroom is not visible from the city. Do you need air rights? Thanks.

Yes, do you need air rights and your building must not be over its FAR and willing to sell you the space. It's possible you could do a creative bulkhead for which you'd only need roof rights, but I'm told the city is really cracking down on that.

We are currently investigating the process of purchasing roof rights from our co-op. Just FYI, we have to spend $5,000 in engineering and appraisal fees before we even know if it's feasible. The costs only go up from there.

Assume the building is over FAR. Does sunroom need air rights?
