What happens if I move for a new job and need to break the lease? Anyone know the policy TF Cornerstone has? Am I better off just finding a subletter?

Offer an extra month's rent to get out of it. Finding a subletter with all the hastle and time it may take you to put one in will likely end up more expensive than one month's rent. Just make sure your talking to the right person from the beginning in the landlord's office, also absolutely everything discussed should be memorialized some way on paper/email. Show your looking to do the right thing but you won't jump through hoops.
They may in some way/shape form let you know not handling this pristinely on your part may adversally affect your credit/reference with a new landlord. Kindly let them know you'll be out of the rental industry as your intent is to purchase. It's not unlike a landlord to play on good citizen's fears. This throws cold water on this route of intimidation.

ALternatively, if they're real jerks (no experience with this management company), there is always the weekly bachelor/bachelorette party route. Invite a goat for a ritual and/or some very base heavy music,etc. This way, the end of your tenancy is their idea.... ;)

It's 2 Gold! they already have goats, heavy music etc in the building...

2 Gold is a very busy building.. They will find someone else for your apartment very easily!

Lee - it's a 1bed (flex 2, wall already in), lease goes until 7/31/11
