Any unhappy buyers at 80 Met? The people in the building are nice, more than friendly, but I have found the management to be hard to deal with. Any unhappy buyers at 80 Met? The people in the building are nice, more than friendly, but I have found the management to be hard to deal with. They are more interested in charging processing fees than anything else. The heating and cooling units are horrible, either to hot or to cold. I have to use space heaters to heat the place up on cold days. I can't wait to see the Con Ed bill. The kitchen appliances are almost unusable. They use high-end names, but the low end of the brand names. The Refrigerator has plastic drawers that fall out and the oven is just a little bigger than an easy bake oven. To replace the appliances requires that one rewire the apartment. I had to replace the recess lights in the apartment to read. The bathrooms are not much better, there are no handheld shower heads making it hard to clean the showers or take a short shower. I have contacted management about these concerns several times and they could care less. Yes I understand that I own the apartment and it's my responsibility, but who knew it would be a money pit when I brought. My advise to anyone looking to buy here would be to run away and not look back. [less]
runaway, you should consider moving to my bldg
-management has a very relaxed attitude towards collecting money, it's basically pay what you want when you want
-they are extremely responsive to anyone's request to customize and overhaul the electrical, plumbing and lighting fixtures to suit your individual needs and myopia
-appliances have no plastic-- all titanium!
I think you might be happy here
The heating/cooling units did look cheap, and the front doors should have been foam filled for better sound insulation to the hallways. (When will NYC developers care about this annoying aspect of condo living? Oh yes, most developers live in single family homes in the suburbs.) But I thought the building looked like a good value. Attractive industrial appearance. Solid 25 year tax abatement.
