Discussion about
Does anybody know of an expert contractor for an installation of quite rock 510 in Manhattan? So far I am reading that everyone only had a positive experience but has anyone had a bad experience with this product or anything to be aware of ?

QuietRock 510 is their cheapest product at only 1/2" thick, STC 47-69, & non fire-rated. I wouldn't expect too much with this. Check out for info:

http://www.quietrock.com/quietrock-drywall.html

What I did:

1. 2 layers quietrock.
2. 3 tubes of green glue per tube.
3. Silicon tube on all edges of drywall meeting drywall. (forgot the product name)
4. Wrap soundproofing "wrap" around all outlets & switches. (forgot the product name)
5. Soundproof metallic like tape for drywall. (forgot the product name)

I also inserted some wood panel between the joists over some spots of the wall for future anchor points for screwing in shelves, tv, and etc... (so that I don't have to rip open the wall later on.)
