Actually I've seen this before. The thinking is, you change clothes in the bedroom, you throw your laundry in right there, super convenient. You don't hang out in the bedroom during the day, so the noise of the W/D is less objectionable than if the W/D is in the hall, where it can be heard from everywhere in the apartment. So a lot of people really like having the laundry closet in the bedroom.

But if I could afford a $5 million apartment, I sure as heck wouldn't be doing my own laundry at all! lol

THIS apt has a $2mil increase ?!?! that's totally absurd. I used to live in this building and before they combined the two top floors, the layout was pretty decent. Lousy amenities, Garbage truck in front of the building every early morning, not to mention this place was a whore house. Prostitutes living on almost every floor and giving services to the doormen not to rat them out to the precinct up the block. The place sure has cleaned up but the $40mil renovation could have been done better. At $7mil this is way overpriced, go back to the $4.5mil price tag and you might get a serious buyer.
