I live in a condo building in Chelsea. There has been a steady leak behind the wall in our living room for at least 5 or 6 months. We can hear it steadily dripping behind the wall. The wood floor near this section of the wall has begun to rot. My concern is that there is mold growing behind the wall, and ever since we moved in my allergies have been awful. The unit owner and the building's management have been going back and forth about the cause of the leak. They've known about the issue for months and nothing has been done about it, I feel like enough is enough. Do we have reason to just move out? I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired all the time in this apartment - the minute I leave, my sinuses are cleared and I feel much better. Would we be able to get our deposit back, possibly through housing court? Any advice would be immensely appreciated... [less]
