Don't know where you're looking, but 233 E. 32nd has very nice studios for around that price. I live there and think its a great deal.

If you were considering riverton, consider far lower in East Harlem or Harlem - the price difference from 95th to 100th street on the east is very small versus the difference from 100th to 138th. Trust me.
