Discussion about
Hi, TD Bank used to have free coin counting--but it's now taking a 6% (8%?) cut. Does anyone know of any free places any more? Thanks for any help. Khoi p.s. Coin counting would still be free at TD bank if you open an account with them. I just don't want to do that just yet.

Really? That's annoying. Yeah, I'm curious who has it now, that's who I used to use.

Supermarkets have coin kiosks but they charge as well.
Is 6% really alot to just dump your coins in a bin and get paper in 30 seconds?

If your the type that cares enough about the 6%, then just leave your home everyday with more than one dollars worth of coins in your pocket and use them with all your daily transactions.

Or you can opt to use it for money toward a purchase on amazon and they charge you nothing.

Isn't all coin legal tender? Fk talk about easy financial regulation. How about you gotta provide free coin counting if you have FDIC protection? Where the fk is little geitner? Hey did his home sell?

Luukhoi, btw I hope you are not an 'owner'. ..... Cause 6% is pennies compared to riding the bubble down. Flmaozzzz.

My banker friend's wife is trying to get $100/Tkt cheaper airline tkts and is moving heaven and earth for it, but $100k home equity wipeout? ....... She should color the walls pistachio.

Alan, you have to wrap $500 in coins to be cheaper than the 6% fee with the $30 machine cost. And the wrappers are a pain in the ass.

I just don't like walking around with change in my pockets, I have a bin I always dump in.

But if you own the coin wrapping machine, it's an investment (free). If you pay the coinstar, it's an expense. See?

Funny, I overheard that at the Baskin Robbins today.
