Discussion about 66 Pearl Street in Financial District
This building is cheaply renovated and marketed as luxury. It is also rat infested and there is a horrific smell in the lobby due to rat infestation and dead rats. The apartment units are extremely noisy. Also energy bills run very high and the building is poorly maintained. The super on site is worked to the bone and is rarely available at a moments notice to help with urgent problems.
Once you walk into the lobby you are hit with a horrifying smell that has to be dead rats. It is clear that there is no care for the tenants and it is horribly maintained. What could be a wonderful apartment building is lacking in upkeep. A shame.
W Brothers did not fix ongoing issues throughout the year, such as the heat and a/c units frequently not working. In the winter it dipped below freezing multiple times and in the summer it reached over 100. This was absolutely unacceptable.
If the heat/ac units would've been replaced earlier on, we would've had much less of a problem however in addition to all the heating/cooling issues there was a discrepancy regarding our lease end date. Instead of being communicative and seeking to find a solution, management frequently forgot what the situation was and often provided misinformation during each conversation. It was incredibly frustrating to work with them and I am highly disappointed in their service.
I would NEVER recommend this property (nor any W. Brothers Property) to anyone I know. The super was incredibly friendly and did the best he could with the tools provided to him, however W. Brothers was an unorganized nightmare that I would never wish upon any other tenant.
