Discussion about
cnbc.com/id/21886277/for/cnbc "At $2,821 per week, people in Manhattan earned three times the average U.S. wage in the first quarter of this year, boosted by financial sector bonuses, government statistics showed on Monday." Doesn't really say how much bonuses affect the overall number.

Actually it does mention the impact of bonuses by breaking down financial services "supersector" average salary at $528k per year. This includes the MD's who earn multi million $ bonuses down to the admins and clerks.

If you take away Wall St., the average salary in Manhattan would probably be closer to the US norm.

Hmmm, so if two 150k earners were to get together, what would they be able to afford?
Punching 300k into any mortgage calculator and depending on cash on hand:
They can stretch into a 1M apartment or be very comfortable in a 500-750k apartment.

And there are plenty of professions that earn 150k in manhattan.
