Discussion about
Does anyone happen to know what the law is re: hours when demo and other reno work is allowed inside a residential building? My building is doing major demo--starting at the crack of 8am and generally going til at least 5:30 or later (I work from home, so it's especially annoying).

Bram,

As far as I know that is up to the building. Weekends do require a special permit to work.

I would think most of the people in your building will and should call the management company.

Usually when I am do a typical renovation in the city the building will not let me make any noise until 10:00 and I must leave at 4.

The City law: 7am - ?pm
Private Building rule: What ever hours they want within the City law limit.

...as memory serves.
