More Democrats flee their state to stop anti union legislation. I LOVE it. This time in Indiana. Poor Mitch Daniels. Now when he runs for president he won't be able to brag about busting unions. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0211/49974.html
If Democratic legislators continue to flout the legal obligations of their oaths
of office some court will issue orders compelling their returns and if they dont,
orders holding them in contempt of court and authorizing their arrest.
Should make good publicity in next year's election to see them in police mug shots,
ewpecially for their Republican opponents.
This is like Alex Baldwin threatening to leave the US. We're still waiting...
Why not just lose the vote and use the public outrage at the change in laws to vote in new legislators in the next election?
Is it really democratic to flaunt the election system by leaving? I am sorry, but it just sounds like a childs temper tantrum to walk out. It is something we would have done in high school and thought ourselves so clever at having thought of it.
Not just a Democrat thing, by the way:

It's political theater practiced by both sides. I think it is more like the Delta House walking out on their "trial." "Well, you can do what you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you bad-mouth the United States of America! Gentlemen?"
charlie rangell style
First the liberal Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board ripped the 14 state senate Democrats who fled the state for throwing a "temper tantrum." Then the Wisconsin State Journal called the Democrats "irresponsible." Now the Racine Journal Times calls on the senators to get back to work and warns they could cost the state up to $165 million if they don't return:
Another reason for Democrats to return is the Friday deadline for refinancing the state's debt. That will save about $165 million, and it is the primary method Walker would use to fill a hole in the current budget. It is possible the state could renegotiate with lenders and secure the same savings a month from now, but it is also possible that the state will save less because of lender nervousness and interest rate fluctuations. That would mean a few more layoffs and cuts.

Sounds like Walker should compromise with the Dems if he doesn't want to be the guy who caused Wisconsin to fail to refinance its debt.
AH -- Exactly. When you try to bluff (or bully) someone and they call your bluff, you have to go to Plan B. What did Walker expect when he went so all or nothing? Now he has to compromise.
More backward liberal non-intelligence. The politicians who are AWOL and are not showing up to do their job will take the blame, not the governor who is seeking to implement a highly popular policy in his state.
Wanna bet? One of the key downfalls of the last big batch of freshman GOP pols was their run-out-of-money, don't pay Fed employees stunt. Na na na na, na na na na, hey Hey, GOODBYE!
"not the governor who is seeking to implement a highly popular policy in his state."
52% of Wisconsin voters OPPOSE Walker's policy bozo.
Interestingly, 52% is the same percentage of the vote Walker won by in the last election.
BREAKING: Scott Walker considered planting thugs into the protest crowds to cause trouble and discredit unions:

The biggest argument against the Democrats in this case (or any case) is that alpo supports them.
