As long as the unemployment picture continues to improve, don't wait for a meltdown in Mahattan real estate prices. Unemployment down to 8.9%, a 2 year low. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/03/04/us-usa-economy-idUSTRE71R3OO20110304?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+reuters%2FtopNews+%28News+%2F+US+%2F+Top+News%29&utm_content=Google+Feedfetcher
and the people who ran out of unemployment are spending whose money?
If the government would just stop firing their own people, we would be in much better shape.
"Governments at all levels cut 30,000 jobs last month %u2014 12,000 at the state level and 18,000 at the city level. As BLS notes, "Local government has lost 377,000 jobs since its peak in September 2008."
As seen by the drama unfolding in state capitals around the country, this is likely to be a continuing trend. Employment growth is now occurring in SPITE of government spending, not because of it."
How about the government just spend our money on keeping their employees instead of spending to keep the bank derivatives afloat?
