Discussion about
Can anybody recommend a source for acrylic/Plexiglas sheets in Manhattan that will cut to size? Polycarbonite is probably not needed. The project is to cover a square yard or two of wall and/or floor space with rigid protection so that the wall and floor finish can be seen underneath but still kept clean and protected against spills. I used to go to Canal Street plastic houses, but I haven't been there in years and on the web there are reports of them being "dodgy" and/or difficult to deal with. Ideally, the source would also drill holes in the corners, as this material is difficult to work with on a DIY basis. Thanks in advance!

Nothing wrong with Canal Plastics. I'd go there.

There's a great future in plastics. Think about it. Will you think about it?

If you use either acrylic or polycarb on a floor I think you are risking quite a bit of scratching. It might be cheaper to go with glass for a floor and much easier to maintain.

lee's art shop would probably do this for you too, though they might not be cheap.
