Discussion about
any advice re: 230 RSD, 314 west 100, 595 WEA , 219 west 81st (avonova)?
There are many threads on this topic. Use the "Search Discussions" box to the right to search for "230 RSD", "Sabrina", "905 WEA", "845 WEA", "Avonova", etc.
I find 595 WEA quite dull, like other Samson projects (see 230 W93rd, 905 WEA). In some ways, dull is good. 230 RSD and 219 W81st have already seen their original sponsors bail. 314 West 100th has been through a change of sales team and was affected, IIRC, by ripples from the Apthorp mess; it's a pretty little building, if you can live without a doorman or closets.
Financing is a challenge in these recent conversions, because so many sponsor units remain occupied by rent-regulaed tenants. Bring cash and bid accordingly.
Thank you, I read through a few of those. I am a bit worried about buying in a non doorman building- just don’t know if it is wise choice.
Do you think a new development is better choice over the conversion? I would like to gut renovate an apt. because sometime new dev and conversions include poor quality work.
I like the intimacy of 595 WEA, and the scale of the one bedrooms is decent there, but I think the pricing was/is rich.
what's going to happen to 666 WEA which the new owner is trying to vacate? ...condo, rental or social service use?
