Discussion about 233 East 69th Street #6D
I'm wondering why this appears to be a great deal. Any one aware of any problems with this building/apartment?

Problem is known as 2nd ave subway. Might be a good long term investment, but they have a port hole to the digging right out your door...

The subways vents and vent tower are going to be right there by the building. People in this building are desperate to sell. Also, some of the apartments are loosing whatever windows they have. Google the building and you will be shocked to find out information that nobody will tell you.

A few lines are losing their lot-line windows, not all of them. The board is suing the MTA, etc. A thread about it should turn up if you search on lot-line.

Thanks for the info. It looked too good to be true; now I know it is. I just read the New York Post article. I had looked at this building 4 years ago; glad I didn't buy there. Sorry for the people who do live there.

I myself almost purchased at 301 E 69th St.. That is where the subway escalators will be at the corner where Patsy's is now. Nearly 10 feet from the entrance of the building. I found out myself by googling the address immediately called off the deal. It's a mess in that area, and people who live in this area have known for the past 10 years the disruption the subway construction was going to cause.
